Miliyan Lashes

Charmaine Heath

In August 2020, I decided to start my own business. It may seem strange to some that I would begin a new venture during a pandemic, but I feel fortunate to be able to continue doing what I love.

Prior to starting this business, I was a stay-at-home mom for 12 years and wanted a career that would allow me to have a flexible schedule. As the mother of 17-year-old twins with busy after-school schedules, it is important for me to be available for them. My personal experience with lash extensions also played a role in my decision to start this business.

On my birthday, I got lash extensions, but the application was painful and the lashes were applied too close to my lash line and even on my skin. When I returned from my vacation, my eyes were itchy and swollen and I had to see a doctor and get eyedrops to treat the irritation. As a result of this experience, I am sensitive to my clients’ needs and wants and take great care in the application process, making sure to leave 2 to 3 mm of space between the lashes and the lash line.

At my Lash Studio, I want my clients to feel like they are taking a mini retreat from their busy lives. The studio is designed to be relaxing, with a comfortable recliner and soothing music playing during the service. We even jokingly refer to the state of relaxation that clients often experience as a “lash nap.” I offer a three-day guarantee on my work and welcome clients to call me within that time frame if they have any issues or concerns.
